Govt. Degree College Tangdhar, established in 2008, is affiliated to the University of Kashmir and also recognized by the UGC under 2(f) & 12(B). The college started functioning from a transit accommodation consisting of five pre-fabricated huts & two concrete lavatory blocks in the year 2008. Later on, it shifted to its permanent two-storied building/main campus in the year 2020. The campus of the college is spread over nearly 72.1 Kanals of proprietary land. The current enrolment of the college is nearly about 750 with boys and girls in equal proportions. The enrolment of the girls has increased over the past few years which is a healthy sign for this educationally backward area. It has been the endeavour of the college, ever since its inception, to strive hard to live up to the expectations and the aspirations of its different stakeholders.
